Join us this April for the largest food drive Southeastern Idaho has ever seen!
The dates for this food drive were chosen intentionally to coincide with the end of a Brigham Young Univerisity - Idaho semester, capitalizing on items left behind by students returning home or leaving town over Spring Break. The location of the event in Rexburg is TBA.
As we said above, our goal for this event is for it to be the “largest food drive Southeastern Idaho has ever seen”! Since we don’t have any metrics that tell us how successful food drives here have been in the past, we made a more specific and measurable goal. Through this event we hope to fill and satisfy the needs of the Madison County food banks, and as many of the surrounding counties as we can as well based on their Food Insecurity percentages (the condition of limited or uncertain access to adequate food). Based on the information provided by Feeding America in 2023, the nearby counties with the highest Food Insecurity rate we would look to serve are: Butte, Clark, Lemhi, and Bannock counties.
Here are a couple of different ways to be involved:
Donations - this will be the best way for any and all to help support the event; by the end of February we will update this post with more information regarding preferred items for donation.
Awareness - we will be making posts on social media, handing out fliers, and setting up stations for donation drop-off; taking a minute to share links and spread awareness would help our reach tremendously.
Support - if you or a team you are a part of want to volunteer with us to offer support, send us an email at direct@kajoor.net.
We look forward to this Spring event and seeing all we can accomplish! Together, we can strengthen our community and improve the lives of our neighbors.
